Women Build
The Women Build program was started by Habitat for Humanity International in 1991 and has been very successful at Habitat affiliates around the world. Women Build events have now helped to build over 1900 houses world-wide. It is a true empowerment program which reaches across boundaries of gender, race and class. Women Build is bridging social, political, religious and geographic divides to create meaningful change in our community. Within just a few miles of our own homes are families living in poverty and sub-standard conditions. We have the resources and the opportunity to make a difference.
Why do a Women Build?
•Inspire women to work directly to help eliminate poverty housing in their community
•Empower women to step out of their comfort zone to learn new skills and strengths
•Increase exposure of Habitat in the community
•Involve more small to medium businesses in the mission of Habitat
•Have fun!!
